I grew up in Southwestern Pennsylvania and after spending about 25 years living in other places I came back home because I felt a strong pull to be near family again. I love hearing stories about the past and enjoy looking at old photographs. I have thousands of pictures from both sides of my family so I've gotten to know my ancestors this way. There are very few photos from the 1800s so I only know so many faces. I'll have to settle on records to get to know the others. Maybe I'll get lucky and meet some cousins with some old photos. That would be great!

I have Eastern European in my DNA along with Italian, Irish and a few others. My paternal grandmother's family has been in Pennsylvania for a long time and the rest of the families immigrated at the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century. I started working on a family tree a few years ago but I really haven't gotten much done on it. I love watching genealogy webinars and reading blogs but it's time I actually apply what I am learning and start recording the stories.

Just in case you dropped by looking for a Norwood connection, the name was changed from Nawrocki to Norwood by my great grandfather in 1938.
